A Christmas Lunch That Fed More Than Bellies

This year, Navicare was honoured not only to sponsor 10 places at the Clermont Seniors’ Christmas Lunch, proudly hosted by the Clermont Community Business Group, but to stand beside our community and serve on the day—and in doing so, be reminded of what truly matters. 

The room came alive with shared stories, warm smiles, and gentle laughter as 76 cherished seniors—our true VIPs— gathered to celebrate the season together. For many, it wasn’t just a meal; it was a moment of belonging. A delicious lunch prepared by Penny’s Plaza Coffee Shop, followed by plum pudding lovingly made and donated by Jill Francis, and a sweet gift to take home from GGs Delights, made the day feel extra special. 

Music filled the room as a DJ played familiar tunes, and soon enough, joy took over. Seniors and volunteers found themselves dancing side by side—proof that connection knows no age. The day ended with full bellies, light hearts, and souls a little brighter than when they arrived. 

Community meals like this do more than nourish the body. They ease loneliness, strengthen mental wellbeing, and remind people they are seen, valued, and never alone. They create space for memories, friendships, and hope.
