Clermont Sustainability Workshop
The Bridging Study team visited the Navicare site in Clermont in August to conduct a sustainability workshop as part of the study. These workshops help researchers to understand the factors that influence how the service is being used in the community, and what considerations should be made for its longer-term sustainability. This information is fed back to Navicare to ensure its services are responsive and appropriate to the needs of the community.
The workshops was attended by Care Navigators and members from the Clermont community – participants were asked to tell the Bridging Study team about mental health needs in the community, the ongoing uptake and usage of the Navicare service, and things impacting on sustainability of the service in Clermont. Several factors were identified as working well, with some important suggestions and recommendations given to increase the likelihood of long-term success in Clermont.
“The communities who use the Navicare service are the ones who know best what’s working and what might need to change – it’s important for us to listen and understand this, and use this information to form recommendations for the service in the future. We are always so grateful to the community members who share their time and experiences with us – it’s incredibly valuable.”
The Bridging Study team will continue conducting interviews with other service providers and service users in the Clermont region to supplement the findings from this workshop. Sustainability workshops will be held in other Navicare locations throughout 2025-2026. Results from these workshops, and from other sustainability and evaluation data collected across the Bridging Study, will be used to inform a National Roundtable in 2026, bringing together service providers, health consumers, policy makers and funders from Queensland and nationally to discuss long-term sustainability and scale up opportunities for the Navicare service.
